Dr. Krishnaveni Sivagnanam is a highly regarded legal professional with a specialization in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). She was enrolled with the Tamil Nadu Bar Council in 2004 and began her legal career in the esteemed chambers of Shri R. Gandhi, Senior Advocate, practicing before the High Court of Madras. She holds a Master’s in Law (M.L.) with a specialisation in Intellectual Property, where she was awarded a Gold Medal for her academic achievements.
A prolific researcher and writer, she has contributed numerous articles to prestigious publications such as The Hindu Business Line and various well-renowned intellectual property journals. Her research interests are broad and encompass critical areas such as technology transfer, competition law, IP asset management, and the intersection of human rights and intellectual property.
Prior to her role at Entrada Legal, she was associated with Altacit Global, where she further honed her expertise in IP law as head of Research Department . Her commitment to raising awareness about intellectual property has led her to conduct sessions and workshops at leading institutions, including Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Villgro, TiE Chennai, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She has also presented research papers at national seminars on a range of topics, including copyright liability, access to medicines, and the broader scope of IPR.

She is recognised for her extensive experience in the legal domain, particularly in trademark, copyright, and patent-related matters. Melba holds a Master’s in Law (IPR) from T.N. Dr. Ambedkar Law University, where she earned the distinction of ranking first in the state. Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Pondicherry University, further strengthening her interdisciplinary expertise.
Currently practicing as an Advocate at Entrada Legal, she leverages her in-depth knowledge to provide comprehensive IPR consulting services. Her professional expertise spans trademark registration, brand protection strategies, drafting intricate legal documents, and handling various aspects of intellectual property law. She also regularly represents clients before the Intellectual Property Appellate Board and the Trademark Office, handling a wide range of IPR matters with expertise and consistency.
Before joining Entrada Legal, she gained valuable experience in the insurance sector, having worked with renowned companies such as ICICI Lombard and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. In these roles, she was responsible for managing third-party motor claims, addressing legal notices, representing clients in court, and overseeing all aspects of claims management.
